Red Bird

This poem shows a cute story in nature that can brighten up young children's day.
As I look up, something red zooms by me like a jet plane.
I try to keep my eye on it, yet it is so swift.
I saw it land in a tree extremely close to me.
After what felt like one hundred years,
I got to the tree the figure landed in.
I creep closer to the tree and see a bird,
a beautiful rose colored bird sitting in a nest.
Then I see three bubblegum colored baby birds
hop out of the nest screaming with hunger.
Then the rose bird pulls out three worms
and feeds each baby.
They all stopped,
huddled together,
and fell asleep.

spring
Delicate petals and soft flowers
Are cozy seats for bugs
Bees eat the delicious nectar
off the flowers.
Love these lines. These lines so aptly describes the nature during spring time❤️❤️

Wonders of Nature
I can imagine the scene with the animals playing by the creek.
Amazing how she talks about saying goodbye to childhood being a child herself! Time does go by fast.

I love this poem because by the end, I realize that she’s making a subtle but powerful connection between the animals she writes about and childhood. I first visualize animals playing but by the end I visualize children instead. It brings nostalgia to the reader and is very powerful!

magnificant friendship
What a powerful and perfect simile to compare friendship to a seed! Both are powerful and life affirming, and I love how the author uses the word “deep” both literally for a seed, and metaphorically for friendship. Very honest and powerful!

spring
A beautiful poem, because it transports the reader to that essence of spring, that we all know and love. I can see and smell all the sites. My favorite part is how she compares the petals of flowers to being cozy seats for bugs. Wonderful imagery and use of metaphors.
